Respect and Dignity
Projet PAL (Alternative Resource in Mental Health) is a billingual non-profit resource for people living with mental health challenges.

For a great many people Project PAL represents an oasis of warmth and support in a sea of difficulty and uncertainty.
Each person who walks through our doors is greeted warmly and treated with respect and dignity. As an alternative ressource, we support and encourage members to become responsible for their own lives and decisions. Members are furthermore encouraged to envision the outcomes that they want and then supported in doing so. Members of P.A.L. are solicitated to participate in all aspects of the organisation. Through the Board of Directors and committee participation in which members are in a mojority, through meal preparation, Drop In maintenance, social clubs and therapeutic mesures, all members can become involved depending on their abilities and interests.
At Project PAL, we are not interested in the diagnosis of the people who come to our community center; we simply want to help them reach their potential. When we see someone who has a mental health challenge, we do not see a disease; we see a person who can take charge of their life.

Our expertise focuses on issues such as:
- individual empowerment & building of self-esteem
- development and support of affordable housing and ongoing community followup;
- defending rights at the local, provincial and federal levels of government
- building strong social networks and mutual aid
- development of personal skills and abilities through different courses
We provide a wide range of services to over 240 people who are members of PAL and 100s of other people who stop by for services. Primary funding sources are the Quebec Ministry of Health and Social Services and Centraide. For detailed information regarding our resource, go to our documentation page where you will find our Annual Report, pamphlets, activity schedule, etc.
